Snow & Fun in the Sun

Grant was going to get some things out of storage and I told him to pick up my old barbies...since I am no longer saving them for my Daughter that I will never have I thought Gavin might like to play with them or I could sell them at a garage sale. The only part Gavin liked to play with was my old Chevy lol The weird part is I remembered having the best barbie collection and how my next door neighbor that owns a drapery shop would let me make awesome furniture and beds with all the left over fabric that she had from fancy hotels and houses she made beautiful curtains for...alas I was greatly disappointed with my collection when we were toys are all old, naked and soooooo not least I loved them when I was little.
We decided on a spur of the moment cabin trip on the weekend of the 9th-10th! We knew a storm was coming and it was the last weekend for Bear Mountain to be open so we decided to drive up Friday night when Grant got home from work. It was snowing hard on the way up and it wasn't fun (for Hubby) to put chains on in the darkness so I got to stand out there with our flashlight apps on our cell phones in the freezing cold...Thankfully Gavin slept through it all. The next morning we woke up to blue skies and tons of fresh powder! Gavin and I played in the snow while Grant boarded for the last time this season :)
The squirrels were out and begging for food
We decided to put birdseed in the bird feeders and on the ground for the squirrels and blue jays :) When noon came most the snow had melted from our yard.
Yeah Daddy's Home...Grant said it was Awesome and he had the entire mountain to himself
For dinner we headed to our Favorite Pizza place in the village Paoli's
It was decorated so cute for Easter
After dinner we walked around the new coffee the the Copper Q and of course ice cream the the chocolate~candy store. Who doesn't want ice cream on cold days?
We got home and started the fire and Daddy and Gavin read some books while I cleaned
Gavin decided to be a photographer again...he's getting better and better
Cheese Daddy
Footy Feet
He wanted to take a picture of his Baby Brother
My Favorite the Upside Down Eyes
We woke up early Sunday morning to head down the hill so Grant could make his Tee Time (I know he gets to have all the fun) Gavin was screaming for the potty right as we passed here (Thank God) It was a fabulous last minute trip...can't wait to go back this summer!
This past weekend we celebrated my Friend Stacy and her Son Ethan's Birthdays
Gavin enjoyed their giant water slide
How Awesome is this thing? Unfortunately Gavin was scared when it was full of 8 and 9 year old's so Jason was so nice and put out the little pool
Singing Happy Birthday to Ethan
Once 5 o'clock hit it was time for the kids to go home and Stacy to start celebrating her Birthday!
There were many drinks and shots to be had
Happy Birthday Stacy!!! Thanks for inviting us over the Celebrate :) The best part was our boss took us to lunch on Thursday at Francoli's the best Italian Restaurant in the Orange Circle and then she let us go home early!!! It was Awesome and Stacy felt like her Birthday was a Holiday where we all got off half day :)
Grant left the party early and drove around collecting his friends so they could go see Strung Out in Temecula at the Vault! The show was awesome of course and Grant had a great time with the boys!
So that sums up my weekend :) How was yours? Sunday was a super lazy day...I woke up with a bad case of sciatica (the baby is sitting on my nerve) so I didn't do much of anything besides read my book and complain my leg/back/buttocks hurt. I had a Dr's appt on Monday and she told me some tips on different stretches to do to release the pressure and make the baby move...Thankfully I'm no longer hurting for now :) I of course had High Blood Pressure (I swear I feel it rise as I pull into the parking lot) but Thankfully no protein in my urine so after them turning the lights off and me laying on my side it finally went down so I could go home. They declared I have "White Coat" syndrome and it just rises when I enter the Dr's office. I go back again in two weeks for my glucose/diabetes test and then back in four weeks for another ultrasound to check on his growth. It's hard to believe that in 5 weeks I would be having Gavin and I just pray this little guy makes it to full term!

10 Years Have Passed Since We Lost You

It's been 10 years since Mikey has passed away. Grant and I just started dating in October 2000 and he would always talk about his Best Friend that he knew since High School the Awesome Bass Guitarist/Singer in and his band Thread! We attended shows practically every single weekend until Mikey became too weak to play anymore.  I really wish I got to know him better than I did but from all the Wonderful stories I hear from Everyone that Loved him....Grant couldn't have picked a better person to be his Best Friend. He was such a Sweetheart every time we did talk and would ALWAYS go out of his way to say Hi and make me feel comfortable. March 31, 2001 he lost his battle with cancer just a few short weeks before his 22nd Birthday...He is Forever 21, Forever Young! Today would have been His 32nd Birthday! (April 13) Happy Birthday Mikey!
Mikey is buried at the same cemetary as Grant's Dad. So after Grant's Dad's service some of the guys went and had a beer with Mikey. Grant stops by to visit often
Joe, Grant, DK, Genard, Isaac, Vic, and Mikey
A few weeks ago we celebrated his life and missing him the past 10 years at his Mom and Stepdad's home! Of course everyone had to take celebratory shots of Goldschlager...his Favorite Drink!
Mike's Brother Tim, DK, Cousin Chantell, Robbie, Grant and His Brother Paul
Grant and Chantell comparing Mikey tattoos.
On the Day Mikey died Grant went and got the Tattoo of the sun that Mikey had a tatoo of, a friend of theirs from highschool drew it for Mikey. The rest of Mikey's Band Thread got the sun tattoo as well.
We took a group photo but I zoomed it into 3 separate photos so you guys could see everyone better....all the kids are all grown up now after 10 years
Mikey Mom & Stepdad holding his photo

The Whole Gang (Yes thats Brendon from Big Brother)
Mikey grew up going to Church and school with Brendon. Mikey would always drag Grant to church with Him, and even made Him go to church camp one summer. Grant and Brendon were the only guys up there that had girlfriends back at home so they spent most of the time together because all the other boys where chasing girls! They spent the week playing practacal jokes on everyone! Mikey didn't have any problems chasing girls because he was the bass player for the church band lol
Grant always brings up Mikey when he hears a new band or a new song from a band that he liked and says "Mikey would love this song" Grant and Mikey spent most of there highschool years going to local punk shows and playing music. Their favorite band was "Strung Out" They would go see them everytime they played. Grant is going to see them this weekend, and is going to represent for Mikey! (side note my Husband has seen these guys play like 50+ times. So trust me I have seen them play as well lol)
Alot of Friends and Family were busy and didn't make it to the party...There had to be over A hundred people at his service when He died. We wouldn't have missed it for the world. It takes a Special Guy to bring so many together after all these years. I wish I had more photos to share but they are all in are storage and we didn't have time to get them out.
We Miss You Mikey XOXO

Weekend Fun

Good morning Everyone! Happy Monday (are Monday's ever Happy?)
Thursday evening we had a Mixer for work at the South Coast Winery in Santa was an Awesome location and all the Dentist's Loved it. I would love to have dinner there sometime. Has anyone ever eaten there?

Friday afternoon Gavin and I ran errands you know the usual...Kohl's, Target and Miguel's we also slipped in a haircut for Gavin of course with some bribing needed...he love's his new toy LOL Friday evening we went to Kyle and Cindy's so I could try on my shoes for their wedding. OMG I am going to die walking in these 3 inch heels. I am not a heel girl...I barely wear a one inch pump and that's only for meetings or dress up events. There is NO WAY I'm going to survive in these shoes then she tells me oh yeah the aisle is basically grass so don't get stuck....and that she has TWO photographer's to catch photo's of us all falling on our Butts LOL Thanks Cindy for giving me repeated nightmares all night. Thankfully she's letting us walk down the aisle with the Groomsmen and not alone so I'll have someone to lean on LOL This is the killer shoe just a little different shade...more silvery to match the dress. My feet hurt just looking at them :)

Saturday was a different kind of day for me...Grant was working and My Parents took Gavin to my Mom's Friends house about 2 hours away. I didn't know what to do with time for Myself LOL I decided after some cleaning to do a little shopping...I wanted to visit Ross because Cindy had this soap in her bathroom that I couldn't get enough of it...Olive Oil hand soap infused with Lavender Oil and I felt like I was at the spa every time I washed my hands. I asked her where she got it and she said Ross so I decided to go find some...I couldn't find the soap but I did find the lotion same scent made with coco butter and I love it so much. Who needs Glen Ivy when you have this soap and for the low price of  $ 4.99 lol  I also visited Michael's to look for some Easter Basket gifts and Kohl's so I could actually take my time and look (hard to do with a 3 year old) I have been looking for flat shoes forever and now that I'm prego I'm even more desperate for some because I know I have the CDA Dental Convention coming up and I will be on my feet for two days straight. The problem with all the ones I find are they are too wide and slip off easily. I also can never find my size in ones I think may work. Well that all went out the door this weekend when I found these
Notice how they won't slip off your feet...they hug them like a glove :) They are Peep toe and padded for a comfy feel. I love them....they were also on sale and only $ 34.00 which isn't bad for a Vera Wang Brand. I also bought a couple maxi dresses for this warm weather because my belly isn't fitting in anything these days. Thankfully my Friend Heather was nice enough to let me borrow a HUGE bin of maternity clothes and I'm so grateful she has great tastes and there are work clothes in there so I don't have to spend money on buying them for all the work events coming up. Unfortunately she was pregnant both times in the Winter so there weren't really any summer clothes in there so I was happy to buy two dresses and a pair of capri's for the heat that has already arrived in Sunny So-Cal :) I also visited Border's who is going out of business so everything was 50%-70% off there weren't really any books left but I did score on some CD's for 5 bucks :) I really wanted to buy the Gilmore Girls Complete Series for $ 75.00 bucks but I couldn't spend money on something silly like that with this Baby Boy on the way :) For you Sex in the City lovers they had that complete series for $ 125.00 which is a great deal at half off :)  After shopping for two hours and my feet were killing me I stopped at the Red Box and rented Life As We Know It with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel
I rarely get to watch a movie in it's entirety...I usually watch cartoons with my little man so it was awesome to just sit on the couch and relax. The movie was predictable but cute :) I still really want to watch Black Swan and it's not at the red box I may just have to order it on Pay Per View.

Gavin wasn't expected home until 7pm so Grant and I went to Marie Calendar's for Dinner. It was so delicious I Love me some Pot Pie :) Grant actually liked his meal too so hopefully I can talk him into taking me back soon! We also went to Burlington Coat Factory (the old Mervyn's) in Corona to look at Baby Stuff and I found some super cute things there. I'm so glad they have a baby store closer to us with the same amount of selections as Babies R Us but cheaper prices. I also scored by finding this Snoogle Pregnancy Pillow that I've had my eye on since my last pregnancy but didn't want to pay $ 60.00 for it's perfect and supports your back which has already been hurting me for months now :) Grant already asked if he could have it once the baby is born LOL He loves to snuggle with pillows haha

Sunday afternoon we headed off Limonite to try the new Five Guys Burger Joint. I hear they are all the rage back East and everyone compares them to In N Out. The line was out the door when we arrived

  • There are over 250,000 possible ways to order a burger at Five Guys.
  • We use only fresh ground beef.
  • There are no freezers in Five Guys locations, just coolers. Nothing is ever frozen.
  • We use only Peanut oil.
  • Our menu is trans-fat free.
It was okay...Grant loved the fries which were a bit too salty for me (salt affects your liver which we can't have during pregnancy) they also have Cajun flavored fries which we didn't taste. The burger was decent but not better than In N Out..maybe if I tried all the toppings
  • Mayo
  • Relish
  • Onions
  • Lettuce
  • Pickles
  • Tomatoes
  • Grilled Onions
  • Grilled Mushrooms
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Jalapeno Peppers
  • Green Peppers
  • A.1.® Steak Sauce
  • Bar-B-Q Sauce
  • Hot Sauce
I'm not saying I wouldn't go back but I wouldn't wait in line forever. They didn't have drinks for kids (besides bottled water)  and no ice cream or shakes :(  I think we'll stay with In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A as our go to places for Burgers and Chicken :) Have I mentioned my Husband's obsessed with Chick-fil-A he goes there a couple times a week and loves the Polynesian sauce on his chicken he would eat there daily if he could and also loves the ice cream. The service is excellent (they bring your meal to your seat) which doesn't happen at fast food and they will even come and ask if you would like a refill. Only downfall...closed on Sundays :(

Speaking of Babies....I think I have a gymnast in my belly!!! Grant finally felt him kicking away last night and would laugh every time the Baby would send a powerful kick his way :) It's hard to believe I'm already 22 weeks along it seems like it's going so much faster this time. It's also hard to believe that I delivered Gavin just 7 short weeks away from this point at 29 weeks....Please Pray this little man stays cooking as long as possible. Well this concludes my ranting and raving :) A Huge Thanks to Heather for letting me borrow her Maternity Clothes, Mom and Dad for taking Gavin with them on Saturday and Everyone who has signed up and Donated to the Walk...I Truly Appreciate You All and I'm So Grateful to Have You In My Life :)
